General Board Meeting of January 21, 2008
An exec meeting of the Associated Artists of Southport
was held at the Franklin Square Gallery, Southport, NC.
Members of the Executive Board present were President Doug Gorsline,
Vice President Susan Mauney, Past President Phil Meade, 2D Liaison
Sheryl Southerland, 3D Liaison Sondra Stark, Media Karen Carney,
Treasurer Eileen Gordon ,
City Liaison, Wanda Cornelius, Parliamentarian
and By-Laws Chair Barbara Kassler,
Membership Lynn Stanzlaus
Board Members absent were: Secretary Sharon
Vinciguerra,
President Gorsline opened this meeting at 2:03 p.m.
High speed internet connection needed for the POS. Joyce Grazetti
made a motion to approve, Lynn Stanzlaus seconded.

Doug is presently coordinating with Mike Fairbanks on updating the web page.
Need a new Web person.

-Audit was performed by Betsey Mitchell and Alma Sroker. Copy is
available in Minutes book.
-2007 end of year tally shows net income of $46219 (primarily due to
elevator) . Copy is available in Minutes book.
Point of sale hardware has been delivered. For the
present POS committee will enter all inventory input.
-inventory forms handed out Members need to complete forms and return to
Eileen Gordon by 1st week of February. Instructions will be coming
via email.
-inventory needs to stay in the gallery for each 6 week show. Inventory ,
procedures and removal of inventory procedures are being developed.

Creation of a new Gallery sign for Franklin Square Park
on Howe Street is in process. Phil will design sign and Paul Genovese will make
it.

Heater broke in pottery studio $563 spent to replace.

By-Laws/Procedures — Barbara Kassler
Barbara noted the exhibition agreement had to be reworked because of the new
POS system. The 2008 agreement will be emailed prior to Feb. 18 general meeting.
Old Business
Elevator:
Joyce Grazetti said the elevator was on schedule – cement block shell is up.
White elephant sale is this Friday and Saturday. All donations accepted.
New Business-
Betsy Heckethorn -
July National Show committee will meet March 17th
11 am.
.Doug - Need to
increase credit card line to $5000 to avoid being denied
credit if two large purchases are made at the same time.
( i.e. clay purchase and pottery studio heater)
-Discussion followed on need to develop procedures for use of credit card.
Eileen will develop procedures and present at next board meeting.
Herb Pritchard moved credit card limit be raised. Rosemary
Weiss seconded. Motion was carried.
There being no further business, meeting adjourned at 2:30
